Everything You Were Taught About the Woman in Revelation Twelve Is Wrong

Is the woman clothed with the sun Mary, the nation of Israel, or the 2017 sky sign? Revelation 12 answers that itself, using a dictionary John borrowed from Genesis, Isaiah, and Exodus. This video treats Revelation 12 like a court case. First the accusation: the three readings most of us were taught. The Marian reading (the chapter is read on the feast of the Assumption), the futurist reading that makes her Israel fleeing in a seven-year tribulation, and the September 23, 2017 "Revelation 12 sign" in the constellation Virgo. Then three pieces of evidence. One: John calls her a semeion, a sign, and the sun, moon, and twelve stars come straight from Joseph's dream in Genesis 37, where Jacob reads them as his own family. Two: the Old Testament already pictures the daughter of Zion in labor, and the old Greek translation of Isaiah 66:7 uses the same word for the "man child" (arsen) that Revelation 12:5 uses. Genesis 3:15 and Psalm 2 identify the child and the serpent. Three: her flight is a second Exodus: eagles' wings (Exodus 19:4), bread in the wilderness, and "the earth opened her mouth" (Numbers 16:32). We also hear the strongest objections in their best form, including Epiphanius of Salamis and the flight into Egypt, and what Victorinus of Pettau and Hippolytus of Rome wrote about this woman. We look at the second woman of Revelation 17, and we are honest about what stays open: the 1,260 days.
